Sidemount Diver

This course is designed to teach certified divers how to safely utilize side-mounted primary cylinders as an alternative to the traditional back-mounted configuration. This course can be combined with other TDI courses such as: Decompression Procedures, Extended Range, Trimix, Advanced Trimix and Advanced Wreck. If combined the standards for both courses must be met.

 

 

  1. Minimum age of 18
  2. Minimum certification of Open Water Scuba Diver
No required materials
The TDI Sidemount Diver Course requires a minimum of 3 dives conducted over a minimum of 2 days. The first day will be split between the classroom, gear configuration, and in-water time.  The second day will be spent conducting sidemount dives.
  1. Mask and fins
  2. Backup mask recommended
  3. Exposure protection (dry suit and undergarment or 7mm wet suit)
  4. Dual primary cylinders (sidemount)
  5. Two first and second stage regulators
  6. Two SPGs with six inch hp hoses
  7. 7′ long hose (two recommend)
  8. BCD inflator hose and/or dry suit inflator hose
  9. Buoyancy Compensating Device (BCD)
  10. Depth and timing device
  11. Cutting device
