Intro to Technical Diving

The TDI Intro to Technical Diving course introduces students to the world of technical diving. This course is designed as an introductory course to the TDI Advanced Nitrox course and the TDI Decompression Procedures Course. The objective of this course is to familiarize students with technical equipment configurations, to enhance open water diving skills (such as buoyancy, trim, and situational awareness), and to introduce students to advanced gas planning techniques within a no-decompression context.

 

  1. Minimum age of 18, or 15 with parental consent
  2. Minimum certification of Open Water Scuba Diver
  3. Provide proof of 25 logged open water dives
TDI Intro to Tech Manual
The TDI Intro to Tech Course requires a minimum of 3 dives conducted over a minimum of 2 days. The first day will be split between the classroom and in-water time.
  1. Mask and fins
  2. Backup mask recommended
  3. Exposure protection (dry suit and undergarment or 7mm wet suit)
  4. Dual primary cylinders (sidemount or backmount)
  5. Two first and second stage regulators
  6. One SPG for backmount or two SPGs for sidemount
  7. 7′ long hose
  8. BCD inflator hose and/or dry suit inflator hose
  9. Buoyancy Compensating Device (BCD)
  10. Depth and timing device
  11. Cutting device
  12. Primary reel with a minimum of 130 ft of line
  13. Lift bag/surface marker buoy (minimum of 25lbs lift)
